PAGE

PAGE stands for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. it's used to detect bands of DNA of a certain digested polymerase chain reaction product (PCR). the PCR product is digested using a type of enzyme that cuts at specific points on the amino acid chain of the amplified DNA. the gel is really thin and quite tedious to handle and to make. i really didnt think that i would be viewing my own DNA in the lab like this. heyyaaa...i didn't even think that i would be working in the lab like this in the first place. i always imagined myself working in a forest reserve somewhere waiting for an endangered species of a certain animal to come along.but i guess working in a lab is also cool.

a'way..at last my PAGE recipe is optimized and i can see my bands clearly. before this it was all smudges or smears...if that happens it is reeaaaalllllyyyyyy FRUSTRATING!!!and i would feel like a days work has just been flushed down the drain right to the kelantan sewage system (if they even have any). but then as someone famous said, 'dont be discouraged, another failure overcomed is another step closer to success' or something like that.

wwell...i am satisfied with my PAGE for today..i think i have to stop filling this blogging page for a while and continue with the pages of a bulletin i have to come up with.CHOW!
